A post about Shear D’lite, and Emily Spencer.
At the top of the year, I got a Brazilian blow out. It worked great! My hair was soft and straight, I loved it! I decided this winter to do it again, cause well, who doesn’t love soft happy hair? Right? Well, I went through my options (sadly the girl who had done it before, was not yet set up in her new location to do it again.. Drat..), and found a promotion by one, Emily Spencer. Great deal really, $65! Seriously, if you know this treatment, pricey! Anyways, I set up an appointment with Emily. I go in, we chat (as most do during hair treatments) and she did something I was not expecting. An extra step. Now, the first time I got this treatment done, Danielle (first girl), straightened my hair and told me “Do not get your hair wet for 24 hours. It will wash the product out.” I adhered. Glorious hair followed.
BUT, when Emily did it, after she straightened my hair, she then rinsed it, and blow dried it, stating that this is how the company teaches you to do it. Ok, she’s the professional, I went with it. Now, after the first wash of my hair, it was curly.. And sadly not just curly, but fluffy and frizzy, basically my hair was back to its natural state.
Now I will point out that I used the same shampoo and conditioner, this time, that I did last time. I even told this to Emily. We decided to try the sample Brazilian blowout shampoo and conditioner to see if that would make my hair nice again. Didn’t work. I even left the conditioner in my hair, overnight as Emily instructed. Didn’t work. We then talked about her doing my hair again, and skipping the rinse/blowdrying step. Well, I didn’t want to have to pay again, cause, well, expensive and I had budgeted $65 for this treatment..
I have had multiple text conversations with Emily. And I believed myself to be nice, and trying to find a compromise. But I stopped hearing from her. So I decided to call the salon and speak to an owner or something. Just to see what could be done, they called me hostile, they said they would not want me in there again, and I basically felt like dirt.. They treated me rudely and I felt ganged up on. I tried many different compromises and heard nothing back from Emily. So my thought process was talk to someone else.. This is my last step. They refuse to refund me, they refuse to redo my hair (I in all honesty don’t even want them to do it again, cause of how bad I was treated.) So yeah, this is basically a post about the rude people (not all of them I’m sure. I bet there are some nice ones there), Emily Spencer and the owner Teresa, who cares not one bit about helping people, when they are the ones who messed up. I am publicly striking Shear D’lite. They should own up to their mistakes, and actually make a freaking effort! So there ladies. Have fun with this one!
