Only 12% of therapists have specific training in Marriage & Family Therapy. I am one of them. Furthermore, I concentrate my specialty in healing the wounds of verbal and emotional abuse. Many people with childhood abuse histories marry individuals with remarkably similar backgrounds. This is not by accident--but it serves as a challenge to the therapist working to heal from both old and new wounds. This is my skill, the product of 30 years in the mental health field, and I offer it to clients coming alone, in pairs, or as families. I do not judge or label; I understand that had I been placed in a similar context, I would not necessarily have fared better. I work holistically, drawing on internal resources and external support, and I work spiritually, connecting clients with the bigger picture to make meaning out of their lives and the relationship with their families.
