This place broke my mother's heart. We needed more help for my mother, so went to what we had expected to be 'the best' in this area. It certainly was among the most expensive. I came to visit every single day, and nearly every day, there was some type of problem. The nursing care was spotty and often not careful or attentive. (I will say there were some kind and caring and effective nurses, but the aides with most patient contact were inconsistent or neglectful.) They lost a huge number of mom's clothes. Fecal matter on her sheets, left there for at least a day or more. Oxygen tank on empty - MANY times. Objects left in her path, for a tripping hazard. The dining room was chaos, and food was awful. Always a number of near-catatonic patients left in a living room area to just stare into space. Spoiled food left in her room. Mom's buzzer took 30-40 minutes for a response, over and over - and she is a brittle diabetic! (Management assured me that she was NOT buzzing 'too much', unnecessarily). I spoke to the management OVER and OVER about complaints. I never saw any improvement in mom's care. It was like an upscale expensive version of "One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Next". I watched my mother lose functionality, feeling terribly discouraged about her lonely and desperately sad life. She just gave up, emotionally and physically. There are just too many patients for the low number of staff. We moved her after five weeks (and many many fruitless conversations with management), and found a wonderful facility (an Assisted Living type of facility that was willing to take care of her needs). She has now been there a year, and is at peace. It took me a year to write this review, but I felt I owed it to other families.
There was lots of available parking at their office. I was glad that I didn't have to drive around looking for parking. When it is busy you can park along the curb and still be close to the front entrance. They paid close attention to me and all of my questions were answered. The majority of the staff is extremely nice and helpful. The equipment at this nursing home was current and safe and I knew that my loved one would be receiving the highest quality of care. I always have the best experience every time I have an appointment here. Although I have not had much to complain about, I have noticed that they strongly adhere to the customer is always right policy and if anything goes wrong make every effort to correct the situation. One of the first things I noticed about this business was how many different areas of the building were handicap-accessible. I have been to other places where I couldn't tell how someone in a wheelchair could even enter, but they really spent a lot of time to accommodate people with all different needs.
