Ward smells or urine and feces on first floor Homestead. Date on main hallway is not always accurate. Sites uses rugs and mats and dangerous for ambulatory patients. Dirty patient bathrooms. Rooms unkept. Staff congregates at main nurses stations and patients unattended. Many staff are part-timers without full benefits. No medical doctor on staff (only on call when needed). LPN (not RN) is 2nd in command of nursing staff. The GP on-call doctor prescribes depression and psychiatric drugs without the consent of psychiatric doctor and without consent of family members. Private doctor prescriptions and medical instructions are not followed through by nursing staff and much needed medications are omitted or not given as precisely ordered by the private doctor. Exercise programs do not exist. Non-rehab patients receive no physical therapy. Staff to patient ratio is unacceptable. Laundry service is poor (clothes come back with awful odor, unclean, and delivered to wrong patients daily). Medical staff is not up to date on patients regarding med changes, handling procedures, etc. Each person will give you a different answer when you ask them a question. No apologies are ever given or acknowledgement of their shortcomings whatsoever.
