Dr. Bergman was unwilling to consider any options to figure out what was causing my pain past the X-rays and MRIs, which were negative. I asked him what he would do in my position. He shrugged. When I told him I felt frustrated, he said, “This meeting is over,” and walked out. His entire interaction with me demonstrated an unwillingness to empathize with his patient, problem solve, research, and think outside of the box. When he had the opportunity to step up, he chose to step out.
