This psychiatrist is unqualified for diagnostic services for over 20 group and for culturally diverse persons. My experience with a first time 5 minute visit landed me in an erroneous involuntary commitment situation that was devastating, financially and psychologically. As an assessment of his skewed and biased observation, I believe that as a New Yorker artist over 60 student at The University of Texas, he was unfamiliar with my cultural communication style and situation for which I was seeking help, simply a medication adjustment and/or refill because I was depressed because of stress associated with becoming a student at age 65 and relocating to Texas. As a typical New Yorker, (cynical) and artistic thinker (visual), I treated his questions with little seriousness because I trusted the psychiatric profession as persons of skilled integrity. His knee jerk reaction caused me incredible and painful mental and financial hardship that continues one and one half years later. As a foot note, I am familiar with new york psychiatrists as a patient of many years. I do not recommend Mark Kutcher as a psychiatrist to anybody of any age or culture. He was detrimental to my mental health and he may well be to others as well.
