Made diagnosis based on speculation, ignored evidence, twisted facts. Poor bedside manner. Poor listener. Had to go to another doctor to get proper diagnosis and treatment.

Dr. Vassilenko was very abrupt & impersonal. He voiced little sympathy for native-born Americans, whom he claims "whine about everything." More seriously, he prescribed the drug Zyprexa for me, despite knowing that I had the risk factors for diabetes. Consequently, I put on weight rapidly & developed the hazard-packed disease. When I asked him why he would risk my overall health by giving me that particular med, he said that he was only concerned about my psychiatric symptoms. I told him that developing diabetes puts not only my entire body, but my severe mood disorder in jeopardy. He just shrugged when I added that his action & attitude violates the Hippocratic Oath, which dictates "first, do no harm."
I am an open-minded person, but get the distinct impression that there is a serious culture-gap between Dr. V & his middle-class Western patients, whom he views as being spoiled. How can the doctor serve us well, if he has contempt for anyone who does not suffer in silence like many of Russians he knows apparently do? We are supposed to mention any complaints about side-effects and the rigors of mental illness to him without being deemed unreasonable for wanting to feel better!
