Was sent to this doc for brief blood testing, had a friendly conversation & thought nothing of it. Found out years later that he'd made disparaging comments in my written record that he hadn't shared with me or my referring providers. Turns out he didn't think I should have been sent for the tests, but did them anyway, then disparaged me behind my back for having them. My referring doc was horrified when he found out, and wrote a letter of correction and advised me never to see anyone in this facility again because the comments this doc put in my record were out of his area of specialty and could cause problems with my future care. It was shocking how much commentary was generated in my record over a simple test, without either me or my referring doctor knowing. If not for a copy I got in the mail from the Social Security Admin I'd never have known and would happily have seen other doctors at that facility with no idea what they'd see in my chart. Dr. Steiner, if you don't think someone belongs in your clinic, please just say so to their referring doctor so s/he can send them somewhere else. Thank you.
