I thought she was the rudest most negative doctor I have ever been to. I went to Dr. Katz when I found out I had a thyroid condition and gestational diabetes. I found her to be very negative about me being pregnant later in life. When I called her worried about my high blood sugar level, while I was pregnant and scared about what it was doing to my baby she yelled at me. She literally shouted over the phone that I shouldn't be bothering her with this and said to "please don't call me over things that are not a problem." It was just that a few days earlier she told me my high blood sugar levels were damaging to my baby. So I was very confused. During one check up when we just discovered my gestational diabetes (which apparently was my fault for having a baby so late in life) we were discussing diet changes. I couldn't get into see her nutritionist for a week. I asked her to just write down a sample diet for one day and I would stick to it until I could get into see her nutritionist. She acted like I was asking her to come over and cook my meals for me. She said "you need me to tell you what to eat!" Ummm yes, pregnant here with gestational diabetes I don't know what I am suppose to eat to control this to keep my growing baby healthy. I had to call the office and schedule my appointments as they were terrible with remembering when I needed to see them. I learned this the hard way. I skipped a month while I was pregnant following her appointment schedule for me. It turns out that was too long as my thyroid situation had changed and I was not getting the proper dosage of medicine while pregnant. Then her practice stopped taking my insurance and dropped me leaving me without any help while pregnant. I found another doctor and he was so much more helpful and involved and positive. I ended up sending him a photos of my healthy baby after she was born. He was mortified that she didn't try to find me another doctor and dropped me. Dr. Katz was either having a nervous breakdown or was just not well suited in her career choice. She was distracted, short tempered and unprofessional. I would steer clear of her and find a doctor that likes what they do and has time for your questions and does not make you feel stupid.
