If 90% of the job is only showing up, Dr. Stacy Kaplan is still woefully incompetent. I’m not sure what part of the Hippocratic oath embraces the on-call doctor refusing to pick up numerous calls from the emergency department, but Dr. Kaplan seems to have taken up this unique interpretation. Here are the potential consequences of Dr. Kaplan’s negligence: your three-year-old may be lying on a gurney in the emergency room, crying in pain with a split open lip while you over hear the competent staff of the emergency department leaving yet another message for the doctor responsible for helping your child. Eventually, Dr. Marc Drimmer kindly and expertly came in to the hospital on his night off to help put 30+ stitches in my niece’s lip. It seems that Dr. Kaplan embodies the archetype of everyone’s favorite co-worker: the one who never shows up, does an inadequate job, and leaves her colleagues forced into making excuses for her. It is too bad that Dr. Kaplan, who we were told has made a habit of ignoring calls from the hospital while on duty, sullies the professionalism and excellence of Princeton Hospital’s Emergency Department . If a bad doctor shirks their responsibilities, doesn’t listen to their patients, and lacks professionalism then I would like to point out that Dr. Kaplan is a major problem. Don’t give her the opportunity to negligently ignore your loved one.
