I added my family name and email because I will speak to anyone (including the doctor's office) who has any additional questions. Patient tried to make an appointment to see if patient had a respiratory infection due to difficulty breathing and persistent coughing for 6 weeks. Office staff was very disrespectful and would not allow patient to see or even speak with the doctor. Said earliest appointment would be in one month and could see nurse practitioner. Patient did not want to see practitioner due to ongoing problem after previous visits with practitioner. Patient wanted to see the doctor and staff refused. When patient went to the office to see if the doctor would give 5 minutes of his time to speak with the patient, staff refused again. Patient sat quietly in the waiting room insisting to speak with the doctor. Doctor Aversa, who was present in the office, called the POLICE on the patient. That is disgusting!! He may be educated, but obviously not in communication. It is a doctor's obligation and responsibility to speak with his/her concerned patients. If he doesn't have the time to do so, then at the very least, have the courtesy to advise the patient personally that he does not have the time. I would not recommend a doctor who does not communicate with his patients, defers everything to his nurse practitioner and calls the POLICE on you when you want 5 minutes of his time.
