I will start off with the fact that I was from Canada and visiting the US when I was hurt at Hoover Damn. We were on a tour and the Medical staff at the damn got me bandanged up and loaded on to the bus for the trip into Vegas. A doctor who happen to be on a tour as well that I didn't get the name of was quite helpful and jumped right in to help and probably saved me a very exspensive ambulance ride. I was dropped off at the HMC (Harman Medical Center) with my bottom right pant leg completely covered in blood and they proceeded to tell me they do not do health care and it would be a $150.00 just to see the doctor and then after that all costs would need to be paid for up front. So we left and went to Desert Palms Hospital and there they took me right in and said will worry about the medical coverage after we take care of you. The nurses were great and got me right in. Inside I met a doctor by the name of Ryan let me tell you he wasn't much help and he sure let you know it. I don't know if it was a long day but I sure wouldn't want him as the guy looking after me. Shortly after I was in ER Dr. Timothy Van Duzer came along and in no time he took on the situation making sure to calm me down and reasure me evertyhing would be OK. All I can say is that he was probably the best doctor I have ever delt with. Easy going, controlling the the problem, well Organized and knew what he was doing. Within 20 minutes I had 30 Sticthes in my chin and it looked unbelievable. His bedside manner was fantastic and I hope if I ever need another doctor in the States again he is around. If you ever read this Dr. Van Duzer I Thank You for all the care you gave me and the sincarity you put into my issue. Robert Balcom
