Dr. Tilghman obtained his dental degree from the University Of Maryland School Of Dentistry. His internship, residency and fellowship training in Oral Maxillofacial Surgery were obtained at The Johns Hopkins University and Hospital, the Graduate School of Medicine at the University of Pennsylvania, and the University of Michigan Graduate School and Hospital. He is also a fully trained orthodontist having received his training at the University of Maryland post graduate Orthodontic Program. He has held Academic/Hospital Staff appointments at Case Western University, The Johns Hopkins University and the University of Maryland. Dr. Tilghman has held positions of Chief of the Division of Dentistry and Oral Maxillofacial Surgery at Johns Hopkins University/Johns Hopkins Hospital, Director of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery at the University of Maryland medical Systems and the University Of Maryland Shock Trauma Hospital. He has been involved with the development of implants since 1970 and he has pioneered many of the surgical developments associated with surgical correction of dentofacial abnormalities of the teeth and jaw.

Dr. Tilghman is quite the personality to ease your fears and does superb work my husband surgeries was extensive and a two year process while on this journey the staff members were great Dr. Tilghman and Dr. Wolf were wonderful guides and some twenty years later proud to say there have been no problems my husband's smile is still AWESOME.!!!!!!!!

I had a wisdom tooth removed there and was over charged. I originally set up another appointment to have another tooth extracted. Soon after, went to my dentist where he did it at half the price. I then called back to cancel and confirmed it with the secretary. Thereafter, I was sent out a bill for a failed appointment. When I called to explain the series of events, I was treated poorly. The lady told me she didn't know what to tell me. I asked her to have Dr. Tilghman to call me, which by the way was really nice and efficient. She stated that if he had time, he would. Well since no one has yet contacted me and I keep receiving this bill, I will be going into the office to personally speak to him myself. They need to learn how to talk to people and not smell like cigarettes when they are performing services. Unprofessional!
