Mitchell A. Hardenbrook, M.D. received his medical degree from Hahnemann University School of Medicine in Philadelphia, PA. Dr. Hardenbrook completed a general surgical internship and an orthopedic surgery fellowship at the University of Maryland Medical Center/SHOCK Trauma Institute. He also completed a fellowship in reconstructive spine surgery at New England Baptist Hospital. After completion of his fellowship, Dr. Hardenbrook served in the United States Navy as Director of Spine Surgery at Naval Medical Center, Portsmouth.
Dr. Hardenbrook is board certified by the American Board of Orthopaedic Surgery. He is a member of the Society of Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery, Society of Military Orthopaedic Surgery, North American Spine Society, and American Academy of Orthopaedic Surgeons.
Dr. Hardenbrook is actively involved with numerous research projects including basic science, motion preservation, muscle-sparing approaches to the cervical and lumbar spine, clinical studies in minimally invasive surgery of the lumbar and cervical spine, and use of robotics in spine surgery.
Dr. Hardenbrook has served as a member of the Institutional Review Board and is on the editorial board of the Internet Journal of Spine Surgery. He is an Assistant Professor of Surgery at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences.
