my wife needed to have a tooth pulled and we were referred to Greg Stevens, DDS. Donna, his Receptionist and Bookkeeper, told me we'd have to pay in full at time of service. I told her that Blue Cross informed me that BCBS was to be billed and if there were any additional fees not covered by insurance that we would pay that difference to the provider after BCBS settled with the provider. Also, my referral dentist told me that Greg would give us a fair / discounted price because they worked with each others patients that way. On the day of the procedure, I reminded Greg that I was referred by my dentist, and Greg said that Donna would work it out with me. Greg was in with another patient when Donna approached me with a $750 bill, which would be our projected portion of the fees. I asked if this was the typical fee or the discounted fee. Donna said that it was the regular fee, but to give her $650 and that if they needed to refund any money they would. Candidly, I was still shocked at this, but expected to get a fairly decent refund on the $650 payment. Well, instead of a refund, I got a bill in the mail. When I called to question it, they tried to pull a fast one on me by stating the discount that they contracted for with BCBS was my discount. I asked to speak to Greg and Donna hung up on me. I called back, I asked her why she hung up on me and she said she didn't and thought our conversation was over and then hung up again. I called again and said you hung up again. She said she didn't. When both parties say good-bye the conversation is over. I told her to forget having Greg call me, I am going to post reviews wherever I can. By the way, Greg may be okay at his profession, but he had ZERO personality when I met him on the day of my wife's procedure. Also, I checked his prices with other area specialists and his fee schedule is at the top of the area fees. At least eighty five percent of his competitors have prices 15% - 30% less depending on the procedure being performed. On top of all this, we drove 50 minutes for Greg's services, which is 45 minutes further than the closest provider to our home. If you don't care about how much is out of your pocket, want average care, a ZERO personality from your provider and being treated rudely and dishonestly, then I guess Greg is the provider to see. By no means, skip a more convenient location at another provider.

CONS: They answered most of my questions but I could have used more information. We were never told by the Doctor of the serious complications that could happen after removal of wisdom teeth. I feel like initial consult appointment was pointless. She found out only 3 of her wisdom teeth would be removed only minutes before her sedation without any real explanation. Recovery was horrible and my daughter had serious complications that lasted 3 months. (numbness in face, lip and chin) None of these possibilities were discussed prior to surgery! This office hands their patients a 1 1/2 page detailed consent form (then pressure you to initial it over a dozen times and then sign) and they do not give you time to look it over at all! After obtaining a copy of it we noticed at least1/3 of the items were never discussed during the consult...Two whole minutes... Right before surgery?!? Not sure why they don't have the patient look it over while they are sitting in the lobby waiting to be called in. I was supposed to have one wisdom tooh removed by Dr. Stevens but I don't feel comfortable going to him. Trust was lost. PROS:The office was very easy to locate. Their staff is friendly and professional. They did a great job dealing with our insurance company. The Doctor always returned our phone calls promptly.
