Great dr! Very caring and compassionate!

I was a patient of Dr Copeland's in 2011. I didn't like the waiting room and I hated the frosted glass sliding window. I felt ignored almost every time. Dr. Copeland was abrupt, arrogant, and occasionally used foul language. He was sometimes agitated. His female co-professional (PA?) administerd my tests and I liked her. I take a class 2 narcotic and hated going there each month (and getting billed for a visit each month and taking off a half day each month). I didn't need counseling and had to go through this 15 minute quasi-counseling seesion to get the prescription. Dr. Copeland recently passed away, and I recently left TRICARE to use a private insurer. My new doctor insists on having the actual diagnosis records from Dr. Copeland's office. Grrr... I'm stuck between new doctor (cancel fifth appt today) and Dr. Copeland's (now Dr. Horwitz's) office. Sent my request Dec 9th, left a terse message, resent request, went there in person on Monday. No records have been faxed. I have been out of my medication a couple weeks. Fortunately the boys had a doctor we could fall back on (we moved and are now an hour away) but when I asked for a interim Rx from Dr. Copeland's office the staff said I had to make an appt (they aren't in network). There was a pleasant lady behind the frosted glass and a thin older woman who had nothing but excuses that made no sense. The records are in storage, only one person has a key, in litigation (what?) not the right word, we are doing legal changes at the practice. SO WHAT? How about Standard of Care? Or APA Ethics Code? Okay, it's not the Doctor doing this, but it's his staff. Please consider some staff changes and waiting room alterations. The staff person, in my mind broke numerous ethical standards. Number one is APA EC 2.02. Thanks. Also see 3.04, 3.09, 3.12, 5.0, 6.02c. I wish the new doctor the best, but I see no changes for the better since 2011 with the staff and personal interactions with clients. And this holiday from meidcation is costing me at work.
