This office is eally great. Helpful, knowledgeable and above all affordable. They made sure every single question I had was answered, and are always available if I think of any more questions I want answered. They have cameras taht put my smile on YV and I can watch my favorite TV programming on the overhead TV while they wok on m. Their staff is the most friendly, welcoming staff I've ever dealt with. They are so warm and professional, and make the whole experience that much better. I was so impressed with the progress I was able to make after visiting them. All my questions were answered, and I feel a lot more confident and hopeful about the future. The office was very easy to locate. I didn't have any trouble finding it at all. I have referred a lot of my family and friends to their office since and everybody has told me they were so happy with ORACARE DENTAL.

I just came back from a root canal here last week and am going in for another tomorrow, and I want to tell you my story about root canals.

Years ago I came to this doctor and had to get a root canal. I was much different then, for the same childhood abuse that probably led me to my tooth grinding problem also left me with other problems: including an aberrant fear of needles. Getting through regular fillings had been a problem for me in the past, so I was sure root canals were going to be one of the worst experiences of my life.

Well, it wasn’t, in fact that first root canal might have been one of the best things to happen in my life. The doctor was so patient, walking me through it piece by piece and giving me time to rest when I needed. His assistant Pat is a compassionate soothing presence. I didn’t ever see either wince or lose patience as we got through this. When it was done, I had accomplished something easily when I thought it would be hard. It built my confidence at a time when I needed it, and enabled me to be bolder in life.

A couple weeks ago, I came back. I had grown in my confidence to the point where I was riding warhorses on stage for hundreds of people several times a week. I found out I had to have 1-3 more root canals. I got a little bit nervous because I did not remember the procedure, but the doctor picked up on my new confidence and we went much more boldly forward.

Is it painful? Well, in a sense...but if you hit your hand on stub your toe it is far worse: whatever sensations are pain, or cold, or tired in a full 2 hour root canal fade away in seconds. I laughed more than any of those: the doctor has a set up that let me watch youtube videos as he was doing the procedure. I watched videos people had made of the Adventurer’s Club, and next time maybe it will be something like Monty Python or the Muppets.

When it is over, it is over. You don’t leave in pain or uncomfortable in any way. In fact, I went home and ate Chinese food a couple hours later with just a slight numb sensation. I’ve been riding my horse, going to theme parks, and doing my show since then and am doing another root canal tomorrow and will just keep on living my life the same after that.

A lot of people are afraid of root canals: you don’t have to be afraid of a root canal here. I’m not saying it’s pleasant, and it is a lot of money for someone like me, but this is not the big scary ordeal it’s cracked up to be. If you are scared a little, that’s ok. your in a supportive place. Take it from me, you might have an important growing experience instead of the scary painful one.
