Dr Dennis was amazing

My father just passed away of stage 4 lung cancer because Dr Melo assigned him 10 radiation treatments and weekly chemo which his body would not tolerate. We asked nemerous times what stage his cancer was and his response was always " lets just hope the chemo and radiation will help" so we trusted him and went ahead with the treatments. He never once spoke to us about the effects and consequences of the treatments. He never once was honest and told us that it was palliative care instead of curative care. He never gave us the choice to take my father home and not hasten his death by breaking down whatever strength he did have left. There is a ton of money to be made by issuing chemo and radiation referals and his care has nothing to do with the well being or comfort of yourself or your family member. Always get a second and 3rd opinion and ALWAYS insist on knowing what stage, and are the treatments curative or palliative, so you can make your OWN choices. I highly recomend seeing another oncologist who might have your best interest in mind and not his or her own. If you choose to see Dr Melo ASK QUESTIONS and dont stop until you get very clear and specific answers. Spread the word, it could save someones life!!!!
