I was referred to Dr Hecht for thyroid problem, which turned out to be cancer. He was very nice and did not mind at all that I wanted (and did) get 2 more opinions before having surgery he recommended. I do wish he had made sure someone was with me when he told me the cancer diagnosis, as it is upsetting to hear...esp when alone. He performed 2 thyroidectomies...the second leading to a paralyzed vocal chord. I don't blame him for this as it is a common problem with this surgery. Follow up was fine. His office was very friendly and comforting. My appts were usually kept within a reasonable time.
