I mostly saw Dr. Beazer to treat my ADHD. He was okay; not especially great or terrible. He's a huge BYU fan. Something happened at my last visit, though that killed all the respect I had for the man. A little background--I was diagnosed with ADHD about 10 years ago by a psycologist and had that diagnosis confirmed by two more psychiatrists, a councelor, and an MD. I worked out my medication regimen with my regular MD and had been on it, sucessfully, for 8 years. At my last appointment with Dr. Beazer we spoke about, along with the general questions, the growing problem of ADHD perscription drug abuse. I didn't make much of it at the time. We talked about my medication dosages as he wrote my perscriptions. I remember saying to him, a little jokingly, that I knew my usual dosage was a little higher than average but that I would be happy to account for every pill. We both chuckled a little and I left. Fast forward to that evening. My wife was going to fill my scripts but noticed that the dosages were very different from usual. Sure enough, they were wrong. I wasn't too surprised because perscriptions have been wrong in the past (about 50% of the time actually) but it wasn't a big problem to run the wrong scripts to the office to get correct ones. However, when my wife went to get the problem fixed, she was told (by a nurse) that Dr. Beazer had decided to try this "new" regimen. He changed my medication regimen without even telling me. He didn't give any reason for the change, he didn't offer any additional explaination when my wife went to fix it; he didn't ask me what I thought. SO, now it's 4PM and I can't concentrate to do my job. It wears off every day at the same time. The last 1 1/2 hours of work is wasted and when I get home I have a VERY difficult time helping with my son's homework, home projects, and church service. Thanks a lot BLAKE. I've been taking the same regimen for 8 years and you think that you know more than I do about my condition and physiology after about 1 year. If it weren't so, all he had to do was talk to me. I don't know about you you, but I prefer to take a active role in my own health care. I have to deal with his decision every, stinking day. He probably hasn't given it a second thought.
This provider has helpful information available online, which is really convenient. They have a good website and online presence. They always return my phone calls quickly. I always know that I'll get a prompt answer to my question. They were easy to reach in an emergency. When I called they answered right away and I was so relieved to hear a friendly voice. Their office equipment was in good shape and looked very current. I felt like everything was very safe. There was lots of available parking at their office. I was glad that I didn't have to drive around looking for parking.
