Suzanne Filardi was overall unfamiliar with basic adolescent and childhood developmental issues. She actually recommended that our son, who was being bullied, lie in wait for the child and hit him!. She said it was the only way to stop the behavior. She was also unfamiliar with inpatient hospitalizations and stated she had never heard of anyone who "cut" themselves. Suzanne was extremely judgmental and encouraged scapegoating, which wreaked havoc on our family. Suzanne also opined to young and adolescent children that one parent was mentally ill without any formal evaluation or treatment or contact with this individual's health care providers. She continually allowed herself to be manipulated by a family member suffering from a personality disorder and gave validation to the emotionally harmful behavior to the severe detriment of young and adolescent children in the family. Most concerning was that Suzanne continued to insert herself into the family system after being requested not to do so. I do not usually write reviews but feel it is my duty to warn people. This woman should not be a therapist. Suzanne Filardi appears to have a lot of her own psychological issues that disrupt her ability to remain neutral and she actually caused financial and emotional damage to our family because of her unresolved issues. Avoid this therapist. This site requires a star rating to submit the review. There should be a negative star rating for health professionals that do harm.
