Donna Shanahan, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist
I work with individuals, couples and families in short and long-term psychotherapy. We work together to explore memories of the relational dynamics of the individual's family, the feelings those dynamics created for the individual as a child and how the individual now relates to those feelings and memories. Understanding these dynamics and freeing up these old, pushed-away feelings and memories help the individual to effect positive change in their lives and not repeat what has caused suffering in the past. I find that this type of work allows us to develop a more fulfilling way of relating to others and to ourselves.
