I emailed Dr. Bastien to make an appointment via her website and after a week of not hearing back, I called and left her a message. She did return my call and I was able to make an appointment for my husband and I to see her. Maybe this should have clued me in on her follow-through skills. When we went in for our appointment, we didn't have to wait long to see her and when we were with her she seemed very nice and attentive. She knew before the appointment that we were needing a written consult after our visit and Dr. Bastien asked if it was okay to wait until the first week of January to have it complete (our appointment was in mid-December). I let her know that we had no problem with that, we knew that the holidays would slow everything down. After the first week in January went by, I called and left a message for Dr. Bastien because neither the doctor who needed the report nor my husband and I had received a copy. Dr. Bastien did not return my call - a week later I called again, this time around my message was a bit more "firm". She did call me back later that day (maybe the next day) and apologized and asked if it was okay if she worked on the report over the weekend and she would send it over to my doctor by Monday. I agreed to that and let my doctor know that she would be getting the report the following week. A few days later (Sunday afternoon) Dr. Bastien called and wanted to know if she could fax instead of email and could I text her the fax number (I did give her the business card with all the information on it during our appointment). I told her I would and then Dr. Bastien made a comment about the my doctors office possibly being closed due to the Martin Luther King holiday. I let her know that they were not closed and I would let my doctor know that she would be sending a fax. At 2:30 on Monday I sent a text to Dr. Bastien asking her if she had sent the fax yet. She called me within minutes of my text letting me know that she wasn't in her office and that she would send it the following day, if that was alright. I was VERY upset, my husband and I have been waiting for this report to be sent over and she had promised the night before to fax it over. She did end up going to her office and faxing the report over to my doctor (which wasn't until 5pm) so the doctor didn't get it until Tuesday.... Dr. Bastien seems to be a nice woman to talk to, just don't expect anything more and you wont be disappointed.
