Valley Yoga seeks to create a place where everyone will feel comfortable and supported no matter how stiff or flexible, large or small, familiar or unfamiliar they are with yoga. A wide variety of classes and levels allow one to choose the yoga that will fit one's particular needs. Private lessons are also available.

Being stiff is a great reason to start practicing yoga. The beauty of yoga is that it can be adapted to any body.

Education Owner/Instructor Brenda Proudfoot, RYT has completed her 500 hour training at Prajna Yoga with Tias and Surya Little. Brenda is registered with Yoga Alliance.


Training Brenda has studied with Rodney Yee since 2000 and enjoys assisting Rodney at conferences and workshops. She also studies under Patricia Walden and regularly travels to Oakland to study with Jin Sung, Yoko Yoshikawa, Ann Dyer and Jonathon Gross. Brenda appreciates the Iyengar style many of her teachers draw on and loves exploring other styles. Most of all, she is playful and exploratory in her own practice and brings that playfulness to her teaching.

VINYASA: Flowing sun salutations. An energizing workout. Level 2-3

PLUS SIZE: YOGA FOR THE LARGER BODY: This class is designed to bring the benefits of yoga to those with larger bodies in a supportive environment. Yoga is not limited to a particular body shape or size. Using props and the skill of a gifted teacher, yoga will become a joy. ALL LEVELS

GENTLE: A highly adaptable and individualized class utilizing chairs and props to accommodate special needs. Age 60+ and those with diagnosed challenges receive a discount. 6 classes for $50 (This class only). ALL LEVELS

RESTORATIVE: A deeply restful class where supported poses are used to allow persons to easily relax both the mind and body. Superb way to let go of stress and fatigue. ALL LEVELS

YOGA BASICS (6 week class - check website for dates): Two teacher's provide plenty of help and support. Attention given to the hows and whys that make poses more accessible. You do NOT need to be flexible to practice yoga. FOR THOSE NEW TO YOGA.

SOMATIC: Soothing for the nervous system, this gentle class uses rocking motions to help you change muscular patterns, relieve stress, and release tension. ALL LEVELS.

MEDITATION: Free and open to everyone.

What a knowledgable, friendly and fun yoga studio. I enjoyed most the variety of classes that I was able to try during my week in Visalia. I never before thought I would feel so renewed by a gentle class and that I would actually enjoy restorative! Of course I loved the Vinyasa class with Brenda. I will definitely be back!
