Pigmentation Problems

Carmen Laronn, MD

For areas where the problem is lack of pigmentation, like scars, stretch marks, and vitiligo the correct wavelength laser treatment stimulates the production of pigment in order to return the affected area to the same color as the surrounding skin effectively eliminating the problem. When the problem is too much pigment, resulting in uneven skin color, tone, and blotchiness an integrated therapeutic approach is taken depending on the severity of the problem, duration and skin type. Treatment may vary from a home program to Microdermabrasion combined with pigment peels to Phototherapy or Fractional Microlaser Peel.
