I was under Dr. Altshuler's care because he is a board certified internist with a comprehensive knowlege of current alternative methods of healing. He designs your treatment plan and uses multiple modalities. His in-depth traditional medical knowlege led to his discovery of the fact that I was chronically depressed due to an anomally of needing to supplement my hypothyroidism with both T3 and T4 to have effective control oof my thyroid function. I had been on thyroid meds since 1983 and NO other doctor picked up on this issue. The modalities he used for me included herbal remedies, acupuncture, chiropractic, physical therapy, and traditional prescription medications. I also noted that he had many elderly patients with chronic pain from longterm chronic conditions. His approach was one of compassion with the determination that everyone had the possibility of improving his/her state of wellness. I've seen client favoritism at some of the other places I've been, and I really appreciate the extra effort they make to avoid that here. Everyone in my community knows that they are the absolute best in the field. They made the extra effort to make sure every question and concern I had was addressed. I don't think I have ever been put on hold here for a long time and am so impressed with how quickly all of my questions are answered. There's nothing worse than having to wait on hold for a half an hour just to get someone to talk to you. It is obvious that their office is cleaned regularly. We lived near OKC while my husband was at Tinker AFB. We returned to San Antonio in 2005 to retire. Even after we were gone, I continued to stay in touch with him and ordered products through Balanced Healing. I still use his book, Balanced Healing, as a reference.
