Dr. Klein has always maintained an immaculate office, being mindful of sterile conditions, yet conveying an atmosphere of warmth that puts the patient at ease. His office location has always been in unquestionably safe areas, where there is no cause to be concerned going from the car to the office, or around the surroundings. I have not seen Dr. Klein for many years, since I relocated to Texas in 1992. However, let me say that he found a melanoma so quickly that it was "insitu" (in the first layer of skin). I was seeing him regularly (every couple of weeks or so) for seborehhic(sp?) dermatitis and occasional cysts. He had me on an excellent aesthetic skin regime. I am fair skinned and blonde; Dr. Klein did a skin check on me on a regular basis, and occasionally removed "pre-cancerous" lesions. When I found a tiny black spot on my back that was irritating me, I showed it to him within the week. He took it off and sent it in to the lab. I was so accustomed to this procedure, that I didn't think anything about it. I have no doubt that he was quite sure what he was looking at. A week later, when I called for a refill on a scrip, the nurse said I needed to come in. I thought it was odd, since I had just been there the week before. Nonetheless, Dr. Klein had, and continues to have, my complete trust. I went in and he had cancelled appointments. He told me I had a skin cancer called a melanoma, and it was mandatory that we remove it asap. He did in-office surgery that afternoon, and took all margins outlined by the pathologist. When I saw him the next week, and the pathologist had examined the tissue he had removed, all margins had been excised. Nonetheless, he went the extra mile and referred me to the Melanoma Clinic at U of M. Of course, due to his quick intervention, there was no metastasis. Over 20 years have passed, and it was not until 10 years ago, when a very dear friend was diagnosed with melanoma and died within 10 months, that I took my diagnosis seriously. Dr. Klein was so quick to act, and so matter of fact, that I passed through what could have been a death sentence, with ease. I adore this doctor. If you want an incredible combination of excellent medical care and attention to aesthetics, Dr. Klein is p-r-i-m-o!
