Dr. Rylko's staff in her alternate location of Tobyhanna, PA -- not at the Pocono Medical Center-- troubles me. I presented my order at the check-in window for me to have a follow-up visit after spending time in the ER for a heart problem. I was also late for the appointment, and I apologized, saying I was delayed by 8 school buses (really!). The staff member took my paper-printout order, and handed me a sheet to sign. Before I got to the date line, the staff member asked, "What's going on?" I ignored her. The waiting room was full (presumably for other doctors, whose offices are there, too). Why would I tell HER? Why would I tell the people in the waiting room "what's going on"? In all my many years of seeing doctors when living in several cities in four states, I have never been asked by a staff member at the check-in desk "What's going on?" Hmm. Seems like it's time for some office re-training.
