I heard that you should divide your body weight by 2 and drink that many ounces of water per day. Is this true? For me that would be enough to fill a small childrens pool.
According to <url removed> , On the Oprah show, if your urine is clear than you are good. He said the color of your urine, is the best way to keep track of it. Everyone is different. If your urine is yellow because of vitamin's, than you might want to check out how important it is to be taking supplement's that can dissolve within 20 min. other wise it could create more problems, then trying to solve a nutrient and vitamin deficiency.
Pee can be bright yellow no matter how much water you drink too. If you take a lot of nutritional supplements or a lot of vitamins your pee may be very yellow no matter how much water you drink.
I read that you're supposed to gauge whether you're drinking enough water based on the color of your pee. You want it to be ever so slightly tinted yellow. If it's totally clear you may be drinking too much. If you drink too little, it will be a brighter yellow.
Seems to make sense because when I'm on a hike or something and I'm dehydrated it's really yellow. If I drink a whole lot of water and I have to pee every 5 minutes, it's clear as water.
While it's obvious that not enough water is bad, too much is bad too. You can dilute your electrolytes and experience fatigue, etc. I think 5-8 glasses per day is probably good for most people.
I've heard that too, but then people say don't drink too much water either. I drink about 60-90 ounces of water a day, it all seems to depend on my mood and what I am doing that day.
I hope someone can tell us the right thing to do.
