At lunch, I mentioned that I had started potty-training and that my son had successfully used the potty four times. One of the ladies at lunch then started talking about her girlfriend who pottied trained her child using Thomas the Train toys as incentive. Each time the child was successful, he got a Thomas the Train toy. Potty-training was a success, but it cost her a fortune.
When I first heard this story I scoffed at the idea. It didn't even occur to me as a tactic I would use, but after struggling for a couple of days I decided to try it. This time with "Hot Wheels" which are a lot cheaper at .97 a piece. It seems to be working.
