Ashika Gogna lived in Australia, India and New York before moving to Los Angeles in 2004. With an Australian mom and East India dad, she was exposed to spirituality and meditation since birth. As a trained dancer combined with her family background, the practice of asana just flowed into her life. Ashika began her yoga practice in her early teens as a way to gain strength, flexibility and inner stillness.
With her love for music, movement and yoga, Ashika found her way into Steve Ross’s class at Maha Yoga and felt such a deep connection to what he was offering and what she was experiencing... She just had to share and teach it!
Ashika completed her teacher training with Steve Ross and Tom Morley and continues studying all aspects of yoga (and beyond!) with some of the most recognized teachers including; Annie Carpenter, Nicki Doane, Eddie Modestini, Ann Stevens, Kirk Stevens, Janet Stone, Pradeep Teotia and Laura Amazzone.
Besides yoga, dance and music, Ashika has spent a lot of her life traveling and exploring other cultures. She has organized and assisted yoga retreats with Tom Morley, Steve Ross and Stephanie Phelan.
Ashika brings her infectious energy to her classes where you can expect upbeat music and strength developing poses while calming your mind, having fun and getting sweaty!
