I have been licensed to practice acupuncture in Maryland since 1986. I am a native of China and a longtime American citizen. I began my studies of Chinese medicine under the tutelage of the distinguished Dr. Yangzhong Shang of Beijing, of the Shang lineage, Imperial Family physicians. I am versed in both ancient and modern philosophies of acupuncture. I have also developed my own style of alleviating all kinds of pain.
While I have a general practice, my specialties are with acute and chronic pain, allergies, sinus problems, fertility, fatigue and anxiety. I strive to get results as quickly as possible with my treatments. This also means I spend time with clients in education--education first in how I assess the dynamics of the problem! Understanding how balance of health was lost is essential. Each patient needs to be involved in the cure, so the lifestyle likely needs corrections -- in exercise and food choices, balancing work/rest and learning how to build and conserve the internal energy.
I use herbs in many cases, especially with internal disorders, as acupuncture alone may not be enough to resolve an issue. Herbal medicine is a jewel in the crown of Chinese medicine.
Hometown: Silver Spring, MD U.S.A.
Occupation: Acupuncturist
Interests: My passion is traditional Chinese exercise, which I first learned 50 years ago. I cured my stubborn sinus problem within a short period of time. I have learned, created and taught multiple styles of qigong and tai chi since then, which I teach to students and clients, both privately and in public classes.
