Dr. Nicole Marshall, Associate Chiropractor at Joint Effort Chiropractic, was born and raised in New York. Dr. Marshall received her undergraduate degree in Biological Science from Northeast’s premier public university, SUNY Binghamton. From there, she continued her education receiving her Doctor of Chiropractic Degree from New York’s prestigious chiropractic school, New York Chiropractic College in Seneca Falls, NY; graduating July 2015. While completing her Doctorate Degree, Dr. Marshall double majored receiving her Masters in Applied Clinical Nutrition in April 2016.
During the clinical portion of Dr. Marshall’s degree, she attended Depew Health Clinic in Buffalo, NY. There, she practiced under the supervision of licensed chiropractors in remote locations including Salvation Army, Lighthouse, Buffalo University Student Health Center, as well as the main clinic. She developed the ability to accurately examine, diagnose, treat patients through adjustments, therapeutic treatments and educate the general public.
Her extensive medical experiences stems from the knowledge she obtained during her didactic and clinical portions of her graduate studies granting her the acceptance into the honors remote internship at the Miami Veterans Administrative Medical Center in Miami, Florida. The Miami VAMC provides and serves Chiropractic Care to veterans throughout Southeast Florida. Having a number of family members who have served in the military, Dr. Marshall has always had a tremendous amount of respect for our nation’s veterans and was honored to give back through noninvasive conservative treatment. Working at the VA not only expanded her experiences in dealing with different cases which enhanced the foundation of her career, but also allow her the ability to witness the integration of health care in a multidisciplinary setting. Dr. Marshall had the privilege to study under Dr. John D’amico a New York Chiropractic College graduate, practicing in the Pain Management and Rehab department. Dr. Marshall perfected her accuracy, diligence, and effectiveness evaluating and treating veterans who presented with a wide range of clinical conditions. She was regularly integrated in various medical departments within the hospital including neurosurgery, physical medicine and rehab, EMG clinic, pain clinic, neurology and more. She participated in didactic education classes and grand rounds available at the University of Miami Medical School and interacted with second through fourth year physiatry residents. She held case presentations to veteran patients in the pain clinic and held discussions with the attending physicians.
Dr. Marshall is well equipped in detailed patient consults. She specializes in diversified joint manipulation, and non-surgical spinal decompression. She is certified in Active Release Technique, FMT Rock Tape Level One and Level Two as well as Activator, after successfully completing and passing the advanced proficiency examination. She has the knowledge to utilize therapeutic modalities such as electrical stimulation, ultrasound therapy, cold laser and utilizes connecTX as another form of soft tissue therapy. Dr. Marshall customizes Orthotics through a high tech computerized gait analysis. In the near future, she plans to complete a certification in musculoskeletal acupuncture.
Dr. Marshall acknowledges the importance of chiropractic care and diagnostic excellence, and believes in the philosophy of teaching and educating patients through excellent communication skills. Her hardworking and ethical practice makes her a loyal, ambitious, trustworthy, and personable member of the Joint Effort Chiropractic team.
