Nature’s Wisdom Healing Center is an alternative medical clinic treating patients with professional healing modalities including herbal medicine, functional nutrition, homeopathy and acupuncture in Sarasota, Florida.  We offer corrective and preventative medicine and support the return of health to the systems of the body and help prevent future diseases.

Our services are based on the inherent wisdom of nature as found in the ancient medical systems of Acupuncture and Herbal Medicine and the more modern systems also based on the inherent wisdom of nature, Functional Nutrition and Homeopathy.  We doctor the whole person as we focus our treatment strategy on the area that needs the immediate help.

Dr. Mary Cetan, owner of Nature's Wisdom Healing Center,  is a seasoned health professional, licensed by the State of Florida as an Acupuncture Physician and Doctor of Oriental Medicine since 1999.  She is also nationally certified by the National Certification Commission of Acupuncture and Oriental Medicine (NCCAOM) as a Diplomate in Oriental Medicine, Acupuncture and Chinese Herbs.  She has been providing alternative health care:  acupuncture, herbal medicine, nutritional supplements, medicated diet, medical massage and additional natural adjunct healing therapies in private practice in Sarasota, Florida since 1999.  Along with practicing Oriental Medicine, Mary has advanced training in Auricular Medicine and homeopathy.

Acupuncture–Acupuncture is gentle and a proven effective form of treatment for many disease patterns and has no adverse side effects.  As a matter of fact, the whole body gets a treatment even as we are focusing on one area that needs the most immediate support.  Other therapies within the scope of our practice are utilized to facilitate healing based on your diagnosis and treatment strategy including cupping (circulation support), moxibustion (heat therapy) and tuina (medical massage).

Chinese Herbal Medicine is a well documented system, based on nature’s wisdom, that has withstood the test of time as it has been used to help people heal for over 2000 years.  Between 200 BC and 100 BC, the oldest Chinese medical text, the famous “Yellow Emperor’s Inner Classic” outlined the theory and the potent efficacy of Chinese Herbal Medicine.  This ancient book, “Huang Di Nei Jing”, describes the uses of both single herbs and the combination of herbs to formulate solutions that support the healing of the structures and the functions of the body.  Chinese Herbal Medicine and professional herbal medicine from other ancient and modern cultures including Australia, Europe and the United States are integrated into our treatment plans.

Functional Nutrition can be a stand alone method of treatment or it can be incorporated into your holistic treatment plan which includes acupuncture and other natural therapies.  Functional Nutrition is a new term for an old fashioned fact that food is medicine!  It is a specific and systematic way to feed targeted systems and organs to support healing prevent future diseases.

Functional Nutrition Blood Panel Assessment is a way for us to recommend food and herbal supplements to shore up the deficiencies found in your blood work.  We take the results of your blood work and analyze them.  We provide to you the written explanation to validate the nutritional and herbal therapy plan we recommend to facilitate your body return to function.  You will be required to provide blood work which we can order for you. . You may be able to use blood work results from within the past 6 months if it has the required information, however, we recommend a new blood panel to cover all of the markers our Functional Nutrition program assessment looks at.

Homeopathy is a system of energetic medicine that treats the whole person positively affecting the physical, emotional, mental and spirit levels of being.  The correct homeopathic remedy helps the body to move through DIS EASE patterns and reorganize itself in a more healthful functioning way.
