I was appalled today when I called Dr. Tanen's office to have copies of previous biopsy results forwarded to my doctor in Texas. First off, the female who answered the phone, ANDREA, was extremely rude. Secondly, she informed me that my records had been SHREDDED after 7 years. I had never been given the opportunity to obtain my records prior to them being destroyed, and find this practice to be unconscionable. I have worked in several doctors offices, and we never destroyed patients records, they were always put in storage when they became "out of date." I may now have to undergo thyroid biopsies again, due to this horrid practice and laziness on the part of the Office Manager.
