My mother-in-law has lived in this facility for a year and a half and the staff and the care are excellent. The nursing home/rehab facility is modest but immaculate. The small size (60 beds) ensures that staff know each patient and their families. The auxiliary and the community volunteer time, entertainment, manicures, therapy dogs, among other things, to the residents. The residents also do mental and physical exercises, guided by staff, play Bingo, watch movies, have cookouts and other special events. The main living area is decorated for each holiday. Staff keeps family informed for approval for medication changes and any other issues. Staff meets with family once each quarter, and is available for questions in person or by phone any time. My mother-in-law has dementia and other health issues, but she is very happy living at Hill Country Care.

This is the friendliest place we found. They remember not only the residents, but family members by name. I don't know how they get such wonderful volunteer entertainment, but they are great, better than prior assisted living program in another town. The food is good, the place is constantly cleaning, and whenever anything comes up with a patient, they call the family. Their patient care and attention is outstanding. A very impressive and caring organization with an excellent staff.
