Their staff is very friendly and professional. They've never been late to any of my appointments. I've even showed up early sometimes and they've always been ready and prepared. The staff here does their best to make you feel at home. They are always friendly and make me feel welcome. I spend a little too much time in the waiting room. I've waited longer at other offices, but I was hoping to be seen sooner. I definitely liked how many treatment options I was presented with here. They didn't recommend surgery too quickly and really wanted to try other treatments first.

I am going to refer everyone I know here. I absolutely love this place. The restrooms were very well-stocked at this provider's office. They always have toilet seat covers, paper towels and toilet paper and never run out. They always go above and beyond to help me with anything I need. They never complain about anything, and I know I can always count on them. They listened closely to everything I was telling them, and showed a lot of attention to detail. I've never had to worry about them forgetting something or not reading my information correctly, which I've encountered at other places. I definitely liked how many treatment options I was presented with here. They didn't recommend surgery too quickly and really wanted to try other treatments first.

I have taken my family to Spartanburg ENT for many years. 3 generations of my family have all been treated by Dr. Butehorn, Jr and his partners. We all have had wonderful treatment. Their staff is very helpful and nice, even when we were very sick. I would recommend Dr. Butehorn and his partners to all my firends and family.

Miss Lawdog, be ready for a barrage of rebuttals to your scathing review. I can assure the public that you stand alone with your negative remarks. Not only do I offer extraordinarily high praise for Dr. Butehorn Jr., but also for every physician in their practice. Between my wife's tonsillectomy, my son's tubes and other ear problems from constant swimming, my allergies and sinus infections, and the various illnesses we all have suffered over the years, I can safely say my family has had more than 2 dozen office visits. There is no chance we would ever risk going to another E-N-T office.

Not only are these my feelings, but I know they are echoed by friends, family and coworkers as well. In fact, almost everyone I know has had to visit their office at least once, and never has anyone had anything but the nicest things to say, especially about Dr. Butehorn, who is the kindest and sweetest man.

Robin, a/k/a Lawdog, I live near you in Boiling Springs. You need to be fair and let the public know that 1) you harbor deep animosity for medical doctors, and only see them when your homeopathic remedies fail, 2) you were looking for a payday but your own lawyer told you that you had no case, not his lawyer, 3) the world is not out to get you. Lose that chip you have on your shoulder, quit scheming, and stop blaming doctors/policemen/BMW/etc. for your failed relationships and unemployment.

Dr. Butehorn, Jr has completed several surgeries concerning my throat and sinus'. Great bedside manner by the doctor and all his team members. I would definitely recommend this doctor to others. He is competent in my medical problems and with my options of treatment. He always explains in detail. Great personality! Great professionalism!

I can't help but respond directly to lawdog323...

I have been a patient of Spartanburg Ear Nose and Throat since 1981. When I say a patient since 1981 I don't mean a visit here and there over the years...I mean NUMEROUS visits each year. I have not had a bad visit at this office with any physician. I was seen in the old office located on Serpentine Drive numerous times before they relocated to North Grove in 2006+/-. Although the Serpentine Drive office was dated and over crowded with employees (due to the growth the office has experienced) it was never nasty. The employees are all kind and professional...to myself and all the friends and family I have referred to the office over the years.

This office has never attempted to suck my insurance dry.

Not at Spartanburg ENT, but with 1 other doctor I have had many x-rays, CT scans, and blood work...and the cause of my illness did show on the first test completed. I hung in there with things the doctor recommended and in the end the problem was discovered and treated. My problem ended up being discovered in my third CT scan, it did not show in the first 2 due to my movement during the CT scan. I did not consider this office sucking my insurance dry...I looked at it as they were working with me to determine where my pain was coming from. It is normal for people to look to other doctor's for 2nd, even 3rd opinions when they are not happy with the 1st doctor's opinion.

Would you please post your sources for knowing Dr. Butehorn has been sued many times? I have searched and can not find documentation to support this statement. Do you realize you could be sued for slander when you typed this if you can not follow with sources??

I don't think there is a person alive that has not found a doctor they did not particularly agree with or like, however there are professional ways to handle situations as this. Posting your rude, irate comment's on this board definitely will not affect this particular doctor, staff or office. Too many people in the area visit this office and know many of the statement's you posted are false accusations. Actually, all the statement's you posted are false accusations. However, I can not judge or comment on your symptom's or diagnosis because I am incompetent in the medical field.

I have always had professional treatment from Dr. Butehorn, the other physicians, and all the employees at Spartanburg ENT! If you are considering this office I hope you will do some research of your own and not believe lawdog323's posting.

This Dr. kept doing frontal x-ray's on me for over a year. Did an unecessary surgery on me and once I got so sick I could not walk..I was taken to another hospital in another state they found cancer in my frontal sinus and brain. Dr. Butehorn blamed this mishap on the radiologist at SPartanburg reginal. He took absolutely NO responsiblity whatsoever.
He is only in business to suck the patients insurance dry. If this man smiled it would crack the sun open. He is a dangerous, careless so called, "doctor" I would not take a flea to see this man. I'm VERY LUCKY to be ALIVE! I'd go to another town to see a specialist. This is not a mistake. He's been sued many, many, times and hires his big shot lawyers to get him out of trouble. He should have been shut down years ago. His office is dirty, his staff is nasty to all of the people. Tell me??? How can you MISS a cancer the size of a canteloupe when your looking at MRI's? and CT scans? This one did! And he's still allowed to practice med's today! AMAZING!
