I chose Dr. Ric because an area nurse said the nurses at her hospital go to Dr. Rio--and nurses know EVERYTHING. You won't feel like a hunk of meat on an assembly line because Dr. Ric is going to spend time to get to know you. So bring a book or letters to write or your laptop, enjoy the wait BECAUSE IT IS WORTH IT.

was refferred to him by another md office as a possible primary care doctor. I called they sent me a form which i returned with a copy of my insurance card and liscense. I then recieved a call from an office person who preceded to inform me that in order to see this doctor i had to sign a "hipa" form that said i must agree to be willing to wait 3 hrs beyond my appointments to see the doctor. I said excuse me? she repeated herself stating that the doctor was very difficult to set appointments for because he does not look at his watch. I asked if he understood that my time was as valuable as his. She replied that of course he does but he spends time with his patients, which i replied that that was a good thing because i would require that of any doctor. I then asked if he is running that late do they not give a courtesy call to inform the other patients of his tardiness. She replied no you just would come and wait. I asked do they inform us when we check in of his tardiness she said no. Iasked her what was the latest that she recalled him being. she replied an 90 minutes and it was due to a patient having a stroke. I told her that it did not seem to be a real issue and I was good with it. they then set me up an appointment for friday at 09;00 am.

Twenty minutes later i recieved a call from her stating that the doctor did not like my question about his understanding that my time was as valuable as his and he did not want to see me.

This is a real arrogant shit, to think that as one being paid for a service has the right to make those who pay him wait uncoditionally is nothing more than inconsiderate.
