I am very pleased to say that my treatment for my back injury has been nothing but the very best I could have expected. It has not been just isolated to one phase. It has been from my office visits at Dr. Johnson's office and his complete staff, namely Sara his nurse and his PA Leonard that have made sure I have no questions and that I could be assured that my health was and is of upmost importance. Dr. Johnson and his staff covered every aspect from my daily routine and paying attention to details of how I did things to the very important detail of how I was to take medications and how I was to strive to control and eliminate them from my daily life. Also the care I received at Crestwood could not have been better. The staff there was A1 in my opinion with my every need met. It was clean well managed and even the food was good. I would recommend Dr. Johnson and the care his office provides to my friends and family. Also, Crestwood sets the standard for hospital care as far as I am concern

I fired Dr. Johnson for two main reasons. I fractured my neck, and his first visit with me at Huntsville Hosp. was 3-5 minutes (hus P.A. seemed to care more. The followup exam was again, 3-5 mins. I attempted to resolve my dissatisfaction with his office manager and she was extremely rude, condescending and dismissive. She used stonewalling tactics and continually repeated "that's all in the past" rather than attempt to listen and try and improve their services moving forward. I was very fortunate to get an appointment with Sports Med the next day. In stark contrast, the Dr. Spent 45 mins with me, explained much more about the fracture, gave me a non-narcotic opin meds and scheduled a CT scan for that very same afternoon! Regretably, Dr, Johnson and his staff seriously damaged his reputation and Huntsville Hospitals reputation and brand image. If you need a neurosurgeon, I strongly suggest that you make an appt. with Sports Med and go to Crestwood Hospital.

I accompanied my mother to an appointment she had with Dr. Johnson on Tuesday, October 19, 2010. Her appointment time was 10:00 a.m. We arrived at 9:30 a.m. and filled out the required paperwork. She was called back to x-ray at approximately 10:30 a.m. After her x-ray, we were taken to an exam room. This was at approximately 11:00 a.m. It was not until 12:20 p.m. that the doctor finally arrived. He was in the room less than three minutes total. His "exam" took less than 30 seconds.
He must have looked over my mother's records and had diagnosed her before he ever entered the room. He asked her very few questions regarding her condition and would not answer her questions except to tell her that she needed complete spinal reconstruction which may or may not resolve her condition and that she'd probably end up in a nursing home. Her other option was to try pain management at a pain clinic. He would not even let her finish asking a question and his answer to any question that she did manage to finish was surgery or pain clinic, surgery or pain clinic, surgery or pain clinic, etc. Then, he stood up while she was in the middle of trying to ask a question, shook her hand and exited the room!
Needless to say, I was appalled. She may as well have filled out the paperwork from home and mailed that, along with her records to his office. Then, once he diagnosed her and decided on her options, he could have called her. I don't know why he even bothered to see her at all.
So, after an almost 2 and 1/2 hour wait, she saw him for less than 3 minutes and knew no more than she did before she saw him.
I would highly recommend anyone who needs a neurosurgeon to STAY CLEAR of Dr. Johnson!!!!!!!!!
