In November 2011 I went to Dr. Rapkin for the first time. I weighed two times what I should weigh. I could barely walk anymore from the pain in my left knee. I actually had chronic pain throughout my body. Because I had so much extra fat - I had to sleep with my hand underneath my chin to keep my head tilted back so that my airway was open. I barely made it down the steps to his office that first visit. Dr. Rapkin is a stern health care professional. He didn't joke around. He laid out a plan that he said would help me and it did. I personally had to take out a loan for the treatments. I don't place the responsibility of this on him. It doesn't belong there. I place it on myself first for eating my way to such great proportions and second on health insurance. Why wasn't this health care treatment covered by insurance? It should be. I had been grossly overweight for many years. My Dr.s had noted it in my files but had never had any treatment that would help me. I underline me. I tried to loose weight over and over again. I wasn't successful. I was trapped and literally drowning in my own fat. Dr Rapkin took me while I was still trapped and pulled me out. He very literally saved my life through his treatments. The only things my normal health care providers offered was surgery or pills. I had tried pills. I know people that have had surgery and long term...let me say...that is not a road I ever wanted to go down.
I mentioned that I could barely make it down the steps for my first treatment. After that acupuncture treatment - the knee that had hurt for years and never stopped hurting, was not hurting any longer. I was able to walk easily up and down those steps. It still does not hurt and I finished my sessions last November ---November 2012. I am writing this 04/12/13. I hope that if you are trapped, like I was that you find the way out through Dr. Rapkin's treatment too. Most Sincerely. Jean S.

BE VERT WARY!!! Arhur Rapkin is an opportunist, exploiting the HCG craze. My first appointment with him I would call a high pressure, passive - aggressive, time share like sales call, He charges high prices up front and assured me I would be refunded if it did not work for me. The product provided made me ill. He argued it was not the product. I was given one accupuncture treatment to try and relieve the nausea. When I arrived home, I found 3 needles poking me that had not been removed. I took a few days to feel better and tried again. I felt sick immediately. After a week of phone calls with no response, I told his office I wanted my money back. The amount of money he kept for these services rendedred was RIDICULOUS!!! He is rude and demeaning, out to get as much cash as he can.

He never listened to me. It was his way or no way. His prices are over the top. I did not go to him for weight loss. He should have never taken my case as he knew nothing about what illness I had. All he wanted was the money. I will never forget this horrible experience. If you have any sense you will not see him for anything. The supplements he sold me for $904.00 did nothing. There is so much more to my awful experience, but it is too long to write. Just beware.

I felt like my appointment was totally pointless. None of my questions were answered, nothing was accomplished, and I felt worse when I left. They probably could have used some continuing education courses to get up-to-date on more current acupuncture methods. It made me a little nervous. Just as a side note, I was very happy with how conveniently located this business was and how close it was to the highway and other shopping centers. It was so easy to find, I didn't have any trouble at all. Sometimes, I have to persuade them that I have an important concern that needs their attention. There have been times that they've paid attention to my concerns, but not many. I know that they have a lot of clients here so I understand that they many not remember my name every time, but I am always really impressed when I walk in the door and am greeted by name. They always try to make the effort and for this I am grateful.
