As much as I was excited to be going to a "conscious" GYN, after my visit there are two things I find disconcerting..
As far as discussing my history, general charming chit chat etc.. that was
all fine.
But the two questionable & frankly , annoying things, are-
That when he "examined" me, he did not even look at the body part in question.
He put on a glove, felt the inside for a second and said I was fine & that the exam was over.
I kept thinking, what is someone had something visibly wrong on the outside? how would he even know? he didn't touch the outside either.
Then the second issue I have is that, after having discussed that I am in menopause, worried about hormone levels & want to have some sort of hormone therapy recommended.
I understood that I would have to take blood test before he could do that.
I went to get the blood drawn, it took 2 weeks for a nurse to call with results (the results were sent to them in 2 days the nurse who drew the blood said)
Now, while I understand that he is quite busy, I don't need HIM to call me, but he certainly could have had a nurse call with more than just the results which were very low.
So here I am going "Okay, my hormone deha levels are low and what was the point of me even asking this dr. what to do?
As lovely as he is, it feels a bit like celeb dr. syndrome.
He'll discuss your history at length, because he gets to hear himself talk & do the schtick.
I could be wrong here, I may have fallen through the cracks during a busy month because he is charming, but I still have no answer about what I could safely take to help me through this hormone horror.
I am going to see a female GP on Tuesday, maybe she'll not be so popular & actually follow through.

I love Dr. Bloch. He looks at you as a human being and works to ensure that you are a healthy well balanced individual. I like the fact that he does not exclusively look at drugs but incorporates vitamins, diet, herbs, ect... as part of a whole package of health.

Not at all. They closed early even though they knew I needed help

Yes, they were over an hour late for my appointment

Definitely not. They seem to care more about themselves
