He earned his degree in Chemical Engineering and his Doctor of Medicine degree from Florida State University College of Medicine where he graduated at the top of his class. He completed his general surgery residency at AdventHealth where he served as chief resident and received the Resident of the Year Award. After residency, he completed a fellowship in minimally invasive and bariatric surgery at Yale University School of Medicine. Dr Farinas collaborated closely with residents to expand their MIS curriculum and taught lectures to medical students at Yale.
