Sean Xavier Cavanaugh, M.D., is a board-certified radiation oncologist at the Eugene M. and Christine E. Lynn Cancer Institute, part of Baptist Health, at Boca Raton Regional Hospital. He specializes in treating all types of cancer and cancer-related pain with advanced radiation therapies.
Prior to joining Lynn Cancer Institute, Dr. Cavanaugh served as a radiation oncologist and the regional medical director for GenesisCare in Lakewood Ranch, Fla. He was also an adjunct professor at the Morehouse School of Medicine in Atlanta, Ga.
Dr. Cavanaugh earned his medical degree at Texas Tech University Health Sciences Center School of Medicine and completed a radiation oncology residency at the University of Texas Health Science Center San Antonio, MD Anderson Cancer Center.
Dr. Cavanaugh is board certified by the American Board of Radiology and received board recognition for practice focus in brachytherapy. He is a member of several professional organizations. He has been involved in numerous clinical studies and is a two-time winner of the Radiological Society of North America's Roentgen Resident Research Award.
